To provide global industry intelligence of future regulations for passenger vehicle Type approval
Investigating impending regulations and their affect on the whole vehicle design, devising strategy to support longer term requirements
Tracking that vehicle engineering functions has in place system strategies to meet regulatory requirements
Support Vehicle Engineering function in the development of certification of EU specific products
Responsible for leading research into future regulations relevant to passenger vehicles 
Interpreting global test standard and identifying key differences and potential risks
Mapping regulation introductions (2017-2030) and reporting to Senior management team
Maintaining future legislation mapping documentation
Attending key industry events to identify potential changes in legislations (i.e. SMMT & Auto Council)
Analyse global markets and identify developments and potential changes in legislation
Provide supportive information and assist SMTC CN in interpretation of global requirements
Support Vehicle Engineering function in the development of certification of EU specific products
An HND/Degree qualified individual or equivalent with relevant Homologation experience (>5 years) with an analytical mindset and a strong aptitude for, and preferably with extensive experience of interpreting International automotive certification standards and regulations.

Attention to detail, high level of accuracy. A self-motivated, quick learner who is well organised with good communication skills and high levels of determination to achieve robust results with a thoroughly methodical approach. 
Knowledge of WLTP regulations and framework directives would be advantages
An Innovative mind set and prepared to advocate new tools and methods
Good IT skills i.e. Microsoft office applications
Good facilitator, problem solver also able to police systems and encourage compliance
Experience of automotive product engineering processes and their development for production
Good understanding of 6 Sigma methodologies (Ideally Green Belt certified)
Able to manage and prioritise multiple demands in a multi cultural environment
Prepared for travel to China and other overseas locations if required
Project strong personal presence, and able to effectively work at all levels

VCA & Industry legislation bodies (SMMT & Automotive Council work groups)
CN T&V Homologation Department & other global CoC’s
SAIC/SMTC Senior management
Department leaders, Programme management & Engineers. UK business functions, including finance, HR, Purchasing
The employee is required to work 37 hours per week, based on a working week of Monday to Friday. Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:45pm and Friday 08:00am to 12:00pm.
